I still am procrastinating a lot these days, I feel like I can focus on work noticeably better when I am working though.

Today I specifically ran into a problem that goes like this

  1. I want to practice/warmup or do any art that would wake me up so that I'm ready for work
  2. I spend 1-2 hours looking for a specific thing to practice or warm up, i could not find anything that seemed worthwhile enough (i feel like a solution that involves preparing a "worthwhile" thing for future me could be good here?)
  3. after that I am too bummed out to work but I have run out of time to practice, I should spend time working now
  4. I am lost and don't know what to do, I dont know why im lost but maybe I dont feel like its efficient

I once saw a video about what you should do when it feels like i've wasted half a day, there is a way to save it and I'm trying to recall that now.

SOLUTION : The distinction between STUDY vs WARMUP is important.

If I need to warm up, I should not confuse it for skill building. I should remember that the point is to get me to do something, and so I should cap the warm-up to something like 10 or 15 minutes. This way I will be able to get started on the work that I want to get started on instead of trying to dedicate my time to a different task such as skill building.

#procrastination #improvement #impatience

it is important to know that I have to choose one thing at a time.

If I want to warm up, it should be warm up. If I want to study, it should be a study. I generally don't want to choose focused study if I want to allocate my time for work.
